This made me tear up. I remember being so, so, SO nervous for G & M as they headed up north. Who would they be staying with? Would these strangers be kind to my dear friends in such a tender spot? Should I have recommended that shady Internet website? Did I just accidentally murder them!? ;] I could have never guessed two such warm hearts would open up their lives & home in such a loving way. You & D amaze me. Thanks for letting me pop in and out from time to time. I only hope our paths cross in the future! In it, I said that “I just want her to know that the world can forgive her, and embrace her, and that it is possible to make yourself a new family.” That was before I knew you and Dustin existed, it was my immediate reaction to them leaving.

Strangely, today at work, I was thinking about the idea that I wanted to write you a letter, just to say how the fact that you and your husband have been there for the two of them inspired me. Maybe find you on facebook and send it to you. Because, it’s turns out, you are exactly what I was trying to say was possible: Making a family for yourself. I don’t really know any of you, outside of some twitter exchanges. But I know that the world can be a horrible place, or it can be a wonderful place, and the difference between the two is usually how people treat you. So, you did nothing for me, but I want to say thank you anyway, because it does inspire me.
